ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (APP):Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Capital Territory Police, Syed Ali Raza on Tuesday directed police officers to make security arrangements to ensure the safety and security of citizens on the occasion of Independence Day.
According to the police spokesman, following the special directives of the DIG, enhanced security arrangements have been implemented by the Islamabad Police in connection with Independence Day to ensure the safety at various activities and public events.
He said more than 3000 police officers and jawans of Islamabad Police will perform their duties.
While giving special instructions traffic police officers, he said that concrete steps should be taken to maintain the flow of traffic throughout the city.
He further said that special pickets and special squads have been formed across the city to prevent one-wheeling.
He issued instructions that senior officers will stay in the field to ensure law and order and traffic flow. Special personnel have also been appointed at parks and public places, he added.
All mobile patrols of police stations, commandos and special squads of Dolphin Force will patrol, he also said.
Immediate legal action will be taken in case of one-wheeling, aerial firing and rioting in public places, the DIG said.
